What to expect on your first visit
For first-time clients, here's what the first cleaning actually looks like — minute by minute — so there are no surprises.
Before the cleaner arrives
- You'll receive a text the morning of with the cleaner's name and a 30-minute arrival window.
- If you've given us a key, garage code, or lockbox combo, no need to be home. If you'd rather be there, that's fine too.
- No need to "tidy up before the cleaner" — leave the home as it normally is. We're here to clean it.
When they arrive
- Cleaner arrives in branded uniform with their own cleaning supplies (eco-friendly, fragrance-free, pet/kid safe by default).
- Quick 5-minute walkthrough with you (if you're home) to confirm priorities, anything to skip, or sensitive items to avoid.
- If you're not home, the cleaner follows the notes from your quote form.
During the cleaning
- Solo cleaner for most homes; 2-person team for deep cleans, move-outs, and post-construction.
- Average first visit: 3–5 hours for a typical 3-bedroom NEPA home.
- You can leave at any time, come back at any time, or hang out — your call.
When they finish
- If you're home, quick walkthrough together so you can flag anything to revisit.
- If not, you'll get a "we're done" text with photos of completed rooms (on request).
- Trash and recycling out, key returned (or relocked).
After the cleaning
- Within 24 hours, we send a follow-up text asking how everything went.
- If anything's not right, we come back free within 24 hours to fix it.
- If recurring, your next visit is auto-scheduled per your selected frequency.
How payment works
We bill after each cleaning is complete — no upfront payment, no deposits. Most clients pay via credit card on file (auto-charged after each visit) or by check left at the cleaning. Invoices via email are also available for commercial clients.
If you need to cancel or reschedule
Email or text us at least 24 hours before your scheduled cleaning. No fees, no contracts, no hassle. If you have an emergency same-day cancellation, just call — we understand life happens.
Tipping
Tipping is appreciated but never required. If you want to tip, $10–20 per visit for great work, or a holiday bonus, is the local NEPA norm.
What we won't do
We're transparent about our limits. Jemstone does NOT handle:
- Carpet steam cleaning (we vacuum, but for steam cleaning you need a specialty service)
- Mold remediation (we can clean visible mold, but for serious mold issues you need a licensed remediator)
- Hazmat or biohazard cleanup
- Hoarding extreme cleanouts
- Commercial kitchen hood cleaning (specialty fire-safety service)
- Window exterior cleaning above the second story
For any of these, we're happy to refer you to a NEPA specialist who handles them.
